I
first noticed Anna in ASAP. I've seen her a couple of times on TV
before that but it was just recently in ASAP where I realized what
a really great singer she is. Ganyan naman talaga yata tayong mga
pinoy. Porke baguhan lang, we tend to raise eyebrows and we don't
pay much attention. I was in the kitchen washing the dishes when my
brother called out to me, "ATE! FAVORITE MO! ASAP NA!" I
continued in doing my chore since I knew the opening number would
probably be only a dance number or something which is okay for me
to miss. Then I heard her (Anna)... such a powerful voice belting
out a high note so perfectly. Tell me I'm exaggerating but allow me
to say na nagkakandarapa akong tumakbo papuntang living room with
soap suds in my hands habang iniisip... "who can that be?"
And when I finally got to our "salas" (which seemed farther
from the kitchen than usual at that moment), I saw Anna singing on
TV. I still remember what I said: "Grabeh ang galing niya! Sino
nga yan? What's her name?" Since then, I became an instant Anna
Fegi fan and always watched out for her song numbers in ASAP and her
TV guestings in other shows. Then I dreamed to meet her someday...
sometimes I even dream of singing with her... afterall... libre lang
mangarap... walang kokontra! =D
Fortunately,I
didn't have to dream for too long to get to meet her (lucky me!).
Last August 2003, I heard that Anna Fegi (along with Lani Misalucha
and other artists), was going to have a concert here in the UAE. First
in Dubai on August 14, then in Abu Dhabi the next day. Needless to
say I bought a ticket to watch the concert in Dubai (would I pass
up the chance to watch Anna Fegi perform live?). BUT! It turned out
I was misinformed because Anna was scheduled to perform only inAbu
Dhabi and not in Dubai. She was there though, to promote HER concert
that was to be held in Abu Dhabi the next day. So after the concert,
with my ever faithful automatic camera, to the backstageI went to
see my idol. I was nervous at first butwhen I asked to take a picture
with her, she was so warm and friendly so I started being my own-madaldal-self
and I made chika her to the max... I even sang to her a line from
her single "Saan ka na kaya ngayon" which I think I sang
a bit flat. Nyahahaha!
Hindi pa po
tapos... guess what I did the next day.. hay nakakalokha ko noh?!
I traveled to Abu Dhabi to watch her concert! To make a longer than
long story short, we met again and I was so touched coz she remembered
me... and she even remembered my name! When she saw me, she hugged
me like I was a long lost friend... Shempre feeling naman ako na frenshif
nga sha noh! Nyihihihi.... WALANG KOKONTRA! Anyway, we made chika
to the max again and that's when I found out she had a great sense
of humor. And she's really down to earth... which is a quality that's
very hard to find in people who make it big in the industry.
So all of you
who still haven't actually stopped to listen when Anna Fegi sings,
hay naku! STOP AND LISTEN NA NOH! And look rin because I forgot to
mention... Anna is so pretty in person! Iba ang dating! No pun intended,
but she really is prettier in person than she is on TV! And for those
of you naman who hear that beautiful song on the radio with the unusual
lyrics-"ISA PANG TANONG NA MEDYO PRESKO"... kay ANNA po
yun! Buy her Album na! You'll love it! Wlala po kayong itatapong song!
Sa mga fans
ni Anna... maraming salamat at sana lalo pa nating suportahan ang
ating hinahangaang diva because she really does deserve all the success
because she's such a good person.
And to you Anna.
Since you inspire us so much and you're always so good to your fans.
Maraming salamat. In behalf of all Feginians (if you will), I wish
you all the best for your new album, Straight Ahead. I wish you more
success, more projects and shopping money to come at sobra pa para
lagi kang may extra cash pampakulot! Hehehe... joke lang... Pero don't
worry dahil kulot man or straight ahead, I will always love you and
support you and even take care of you when you visit us here again.
